New Name
An executive decision was made to change the name of the site from "The Aisling RP Studio" to just "The Roleplay Studio".This is in transition, you will see the rollover occur over time as content is replaced to change the name, icons, banners, images, advertisements, and eventually URL etc.
This choice was made to move to a more universal name to accommodate a more comfortable environment that can grow and evolve with time and its member family. Overall I think moving forward it is a cleaner presentation to drop my name and make it more inviting and not just my castle I rule.
New Theme
If you have not noticed yet, A new theme was made and added. In your settings it should be set as "therpstudio", whether it is dark or light does not matter, as you should have access to toggle backgrounds and the light and dark seamlessly. This new theme is cleaner, more inline with the site vision, and provides more personal customizable options for you to view the site the way you like.If you want background image changes due to lack of desire, a future poll will be posted to see what to keep and change out based on popularity. Right now there should be a background for different genres for you to enjoy certain vibes.
Condensed content
Navigation has been condensed. No more dead weight homepage, and for now resources have been required to be a guidebook to the Studio hosted roleplay group, The Aetherean Chronicles. This allows for a very clean navigation selection focused on the main points of the hub forums, members, sub-groups and the Aetherean Chronicles group. I hope this gives a cleaner experience.Terms of Service is now easily accessed in the forum node in board resources. Please make sure you read this if you have not already.
Discord Automation
The site is now rather integrated with discord. Posting in certain forms such as seeking roleplay ads will now auto-post via our bot Bridget into the proper discord channel providing you a 'post in one place' experience. This is to help connect members who may or may not use discord such that nothing gets missed by the member family.With this, it is important that our discord members do not post directly in discord, but on the forums to ensure all locations have the same content access. Unfortunately, forum-only users will not connect with discord-only users, so if you are willing to discord roleplay, we recommend you join our server.
New Site News Forum
Due to the need to isolate site updates, a new news forum for updates, announcements, site polls, etc was made for posts like this to be easily accessed without looking in other forums for my random updates. This forum is now discord integrated into the discord news channel.NSFW Content Updates
NSFW Terms of Service have been updated to account for content that breaches the 90/10 ratio of story to NSFW content, in regards to erotic roleplay writing.
To meet site atmosphere standards, we decided to do what a lot of hubs do not do, and created a NSFW private section for members of the site-only access.
This section includes:
- Seeking NSFW Roleplay - roleplay-seeking forum for more heavy NSFW content without the song and dance of spoiler tags and safe-for-work censorship.
- Open NSFW Roleplay Forum - for players to post starters or open groups others can freely join or read.
- Private NSFW Roleplays - For players to enjoy writing on a public forum with heavy NSFW content with their selected partners where others can read but not join.
This new feature requires Member actions: If you wish to view this section, you must go into your account details and check the box to view NSFW content. This is a one-time action that must be done per account. Please do not check the box if you do not want to see NSFW heavy content, as the self-serve off toggle is not possible. to turn this section off, you must contact admin or put in a discord help ticket to remove the access role.
The Aetherean Chronicles (TAC)
The Aetherean chronicles is an officially hosted roleplay group by the Roleplay Studio, with its own rules, lore, and application process.Recently it has come close to lore completion, and with some site adjustments now takes a top navigation bar spot to jump to it. It has resources and a sidebar geared directly toward this section.
In discord, the channels have been updated to provide a private space for plot chat as well as auto-bot posting for posts, plot/wanted ads, and guidebook updated to keep TAC members up to date. Whether you are a member of the group, prospect, or just keeping a distant eye, you must go to the terms of service channel and select the new role associated with these channels to view. This choice was made due to the Roleplay Studio discord being dedicated to te Hub as well, giving people the choice to view more of what applies to them and to get swamped with notifications.
